Portland Activist Training: Testifying for Wolves

Join us at the Oregon Wild office for a workshop in comment writing and testifying on behalf of Oregon's small and vulnerable wolf population.

While the skills learned at this workshop will be useful in a number of situations, it will be focused on preparing for the October 9th Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting in Florence, Oregon where the ODFW Commission will be considering a plan to remove wolves from Oregon's endangered species list.

Phone Banking for Wolves

Oregon's Fish and Wildlife Commission will soon be deciding whether to remove State Endangered Species protection from our 81 known wolves. We need to pack the house at their upcoming Oct 9th hearing in Florence, OR!

You can help by calling out to our members who live in the Florence and Eugene area. We'll be encouraging them to come to the delisting hearing and show their support by testifying, or just being a presence. If you have some time free, please help with this phone banking effort!

You will be provided with a script, training, and pizza.

Bend Office Warming Party

Help us celebrate our new Bend office.  After a year of transition in both staff and location, the Bend office has finally settled into a new place right along the Deschutes River.  We would love to have all our friends over to help us make it home.  On Wednesday, September 23 from 4 - 7pm we'll throw open the doors for everyone to come visit, and see the view.  There will be beer and appetizers and plenty of people who love wild places.

Please RSVP so we know how many refreshments to have on hand!

BLM Backyard Forests Online Forum

Have you seen this document?! It's the new draft management plan for the 2.6 million acres of public forests managed by the Bureau of Land Managment (BLM) in western Oregon. It's 1,500 pages long, and analyzes 5 very different alternatives for the future management of these forests in our backyards.

A comment period is open until July 23rd for Oregonians to weigh in on the draft plan. But who has time to read 1,500 pages?

RSVP

Crater Lake Wilderness Forum
