October Wild Ones - Fire Ecology Workshop

Join Oregon Wild’s grassroots team, Wild Ones, for a Fire Ecology Workshop on Tuesday, October 10, from 6:30 - 8:30. Oregon Wild's Conservation Director, Steve Pedery, will be giving a short presentation on fire ecology in the Pacific Northwest, which will address the many myths that mainstream media and politicians perpetuate each year when our forests burn.

Then, our Public Lands Fellow, Alexander Harris, will give an update on the various bills we're monitoring that cite the danger of forest fire to justify a massive spike in clearcut logging on our public lands. Then we'll breakout into groups to write some letters to the editor that challenge the media's coverage of this year's fire season and highlight various proposals to up the cut on Oregon’s public lands.
