PDX Community Apple Drive

your Apples – your Cider – your Oregon Wild

Portland Cider Company believes in giving back to our community, both globally and of course, here locally in the Northwest. The inaugural PDX Community Apple Drive allows us to combine our passion for cider making, with our commitment to community involvement and support.

This full-scale community effort is about bringing people together to create handmade craft cider, using the apples from our own backyards here in the Portland Metro area. Bringing together cider, community, tradition and charity in our first ever Community Cider release, “Oregon Wild.”

Why “Oregon Wild?” Because 100% of the net proceeds of the cider created & sold as part of the PDX Community Apple Drive will be donated to Oregon Wild! Portland Cider Company is even a member of the Oregon Brewshed® Alliance (the first cidery!), which is an outreach initiative for Oregon Wild.

In the summer and fall, when Portland neighborhood trees paint the sidewalks with fallen fruit, and backyard trees get a little out of hand, Portland Cider Company is ready to help you turn your fruit into the drink of old – cider!

During the PDX Community Apple Drive, which will run August – October, Portland Cider Company invites you to bring your fallen and unwanted fruit in exchange for Portland Cider trade. And when the time comes, you also get to help with the pressing of the apples you brought in.

Minimum donation of 1 bushel of apples* (40 lbs.)
In return:
  • At least 1 pint of cider*
  • Tickets to Wassail Party in November
  • Hands-on experience pressing apples into cider
  • Good Karma from Mother Earth with 100% of net proceeds donated to Oregon Wild

*40lbs or more of usable apples. Payment in trade vouchers redeemable at either of our taprooms. While supplies last.

Drop fruit at our Clackamas Taproom & Cidery:

8925 SE Jannsen Rd., Bldg. F, Clackamas, OR 97015 • Mon– Sat: 9 am – 9 pm

For questions, or to coordinate delivery for large donations, contact info@portlandcider.com.

Depending on the amount and variety of fruit received, Portland Cider Company will release the annual Community Apple Cider produced at the Wassail Party in November, ideally. The fruit pressing dates will be determined as donations are received.
