Portland Wild Ones: "Oregon: Home of the Clearcut"
The campaign to modernize Oregon’s outdated logging laws
Did you know that Oregon has weaker logging rules than our neighboring states? Join Oregon Wild on October 29 to learn more about the clearcutting industry and the local movement to modernize Oregon’s old logging rules.
Portland Wild Ones Meeting
Monday, October 29 - 6:30-8pm (doors open at 6)
Rogue Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery (community room)
Belmont & SE 9th (MAP)
We’ll be joined by Oregon Wild's Forest and Watershed organizer, Jason Gonzales, who lives in Oregon’s coast range. Jason works with coastal communities on the front-lines of industrial clearcutting who are defending their local watersheds and backyard forests from corporate greed.
This meeting will focus on:
- the impacts to our rivers and streams from clearcut logging and aerial spray
- how Oregon’s clearcutting industry is our state’s #1 source of carbon emissions
- how you can get involved to help reform Oregon’s logging laws
We hope you can join us at the Rogue Eastside Pub on the 29th!
You can buy food and drinks at the bar, HERE is their menu. Arrive early if you’d like to catch the happy hour (ends at 6pm).
We’ll be meeting in the community room in the back, look for the Oregon Wild signs to direct you.
