Being in nature is a feast for the senses. Each of us notices something unique—whether it’s sounds, colors, or textures—when we’re hiking a trail, sitting by a riverbank, or admiring a view. In this webcast, explore how artist Molly Hashimoto interprets her experiences in the American West through her paintings, block prints, etchings, and sketches. Discover her illustrations of species found in national parks, forests, and other public lands, and enjoy stories about some of Molly’s (and likely your own) favorite trees, birds, flowers, mountains, and coastlines. Along the way, Molly will share insights into her artistic techniques and processes. Her work is published by Pomegranate Communications, and she is the author of four titles with Mountaineers Books, the latest being Trees of the West: An Artist’s Guide.
We will be raffling off a copy of Molly’s Trees of the West: An Artist’s Guide, Oregon’s Ancient Forests: A Hiking Guide and one of our new”Let Nature Live. Let Nature Last” t-shirts. Tickets are $5 and are an optional purchase below. Raffle tickets not only help us continue these Wednesday presentations but also support our work safeguarding Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters.
