The Bureau of Land Management’s 42 Divide Project is back—and it’s worse than ever.
This proposal now targets thousands of acres of mature and old-growth forests in southwest Oregon, including trees over 400 years old. If approved, it would further fragment a climate-critical landscape, destroy wildlife habitat, and release massive amounts of carbon currently stored in these living forests.
But right now, there’s a public comment period—and we have a chance to speak up. Join us and our friends at Cascadia Wildlands for a hybrid comment-writing session to take action against this destructive project. Whether you’re new to submitting comments or an experienced advocate, we’ll provide the tools and context you need to write something meaningful.
We’ll start with a brief presentation about the 42 Divide Project, explain what’s at stake, and share tips for writing effective public comments. Then you’ll have time to write and submit your comment on the spot.
