Join Oregon Wild on a guided walk into our nearby public forest lands on the Willamette National Forest, leaving from the Hardesty Trailhead. Experience a healthy forest ecosystem – complete with towering moss-draped trees – along the Goodman Creek Trail, and learn about the benefits of ancient groves like this for clean water, wildlife, and our climate. We’ll hike up to 3 miles round trip at an easy pace so we can fully experience the forest and discuss current efforts to protect forests like these from increased logging and other development.
This hike is part of the Eugene Environmental Film Festival Days of Action. You do not need to attend the festival to attend the hike, but please consider attending the Festival and visiting Oregon Wild’s table in the Art House lobby on Saturday, October 18.
More information will be sent a few days before the hike to those who register.
The goal of Oregon Wild’s outdoor program is to connect our supporters to the places we work to protect and conserve. Our guided hikes and outings are led by staff members with experience in our conservation campaigns, knowledge about the natural world, and a passion for Oregon’s wild places and wildlife. Our programs offer an educational experience and a connection to advocacy for the places we visit. We strive to make our outdoor programs inviting and safe for everyone.
