Wild Ones Training: Lobbying 101

January 21, 2026

Virtual (Register for Zoom link)

Advocates strike a pose in the Capitol at last year's lobby day in Salem.

Join Oregon Wild for a hands-on virtual training to prepare you for our 1% for Wildlife Day of Action at the Oregon State Capitol coming up on Feb 11th (register for our day of action HERE). Whether you’re new to lobbying or just want to build confidence before meeting with legislators, this session will give you the tools you need.

In this training, we’ll cover:

  • What lobbying actually looks like (it’s less intimidating than it sounds!)
  • How to talk with legislators and share your personal story
  • Key points about the 1% for Wildlife campaign
  • How to make a clear, impactful ask
  • What to expect on Lobby Day
  • How to apply these skills to any issue that matters to you!

These in-person conversations with constituents can have a tremendous impact on whether or not a legislator will choose to support a bill, and it’s easier than you think! This training is designed for all experience levels, and no prior advocacy background is needed. You’ll leave feeling confident, supported, and ready to make your voice heard for Oregon’s wildlife.

Join us and get prepared to take action at the Capitol!
