Coming off the heels (pun intended) of Pattie Gonia’s headlining drag performance at Oregon Wild’s 2nd Annual Rabble Rouser event in Portland, we’re teaming up with Drag Me Outside for a nature walk at Tryon Creek State Park. Wildlife professional Thespis D. Light and environmental scientist Efemmera Gendera will lead this nature hike on a flat 2 mile loop trail. Along the way, the group will learn all about the ecology, flora, and fauna of the area from these drag performers. Oregon Wild staff will also share about our work to preserve nature and build community. Together, we’ll find joy in nature and community, and explore the many forms that advocating for the natural world can take.
Registration is required, and the walk is free to attend and open to all. A parking permit ($10) is required. (More info about the park here.)
The goal of Oregon Wild’s outdoor program is to connect our supporters to the places we work to protect and conserve. Our guided hikes and outings are led by staff members with experience in our conservation campaigns, knowledge about the natural world, and a passion for Oregon’s wild places and wildlife. We are deeply committed to making our outdoor programs welcoming, inclusive, and safe for everyone. We actively work to ensure that all participants feel supported, respected, and able to show up as their full selves.
