Jack Creek is one of the many spring-fed streams east of the Cascades that seemingly appears out of nowhere into a flowing stream. This exceptionally clear, cold water rises from vast aquifers in the region’s volcanic rock and provides important habitat for native trout and wildlife. Jack Creek is a key tributary of the mighty Metolius River and a proposed Wild & Scenic River in the River Democracy Act.
Join us on this hike to explore the magical waters of Jack Creek, its surrounding Ponderosa pine and mixed-conifer old-growth forest, and to learn about current efforts to protect it and other waterways across Oregon.
