The varied landscapes of Oregon are a year-round hiker’s paradise, offering an abundance of volcanic peaks, dramatic coastlines, sweeping deserts, and winding canyons. Join Oregon Wild at this special Wild Wednesday event in Bend to gear up for the hiking and backpacking season! Hiking expert and author Eli Boschetto will be sharing an insider’s guide to hiking and backpacking some of Oregon’s most spectacular settings from his two newest guides, 100 Classic Hikes: Oregon and Backpacking Oregon. He’ll cover highlights for short and long trails, with tips on access, resources, and permit requirements.

Oregon Wild staff will also provide an update on the current threats facing our trails and public lands and how you can take action to protect Oregon’s special places.

ELI BOSCHETTO is the author of five Mountaineers Books titles: Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Oregon, 100 Classic Hikes: Oregon, Backpacking Oregon, Day Hiking: Mount Hood, and Urban Trails: Portland. He is a former writer for Backpacker and editor of Washington Trails, and has served with the Oregon Trails Coalition. Eli lives in Portland, Oregon. Connect with him online at ebguides.com.

We will be raffling off a copy of 100 Classic Hikes: Oregon and Oregon’s Ancient Forests: A Hiking Guide. Raffle tickets are $5 and are an optional purchase below. Raffle tickets not only help us continue these Wednesday presentations but also support our work safeguarding Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters.
