THE 4th ANNUAL WILD & SCENIC EARTH DAY
COLLABORATION SERIES IS HERE!
Over the past 15 months, we’ve seen an unprecedented assault on our public lands, old-growth forests, and watersheds. But to counter these threats and defend the wild places that make our state so special, Oregonians and Oregon breweries are speaking up!
To raise awareness about these threats and build support for watershed (er, brewshed) conservation, the Oregon Brewshed® Alliance is launching its 4th Annual Wild & Scenic Earth Day Collaboration Series! Coleman Hops, Yakima Chief Hops and Indie Hops, generously discounted several Salmon-Safe certified hop varieties while new partners Country Malt Group, Montana Craft Malt, and Admiral Maltings discounted malt for participating breweries. Seventeen of Oregon’s best breweries then crafted special beers to honor their respective brewsheds and raise awareness about the need to defend and protect them. Several of these beers are already available and the rest will be released throughout April!

THE 1st ANNUAL OREGON BREWSHED® ALLIANCE
SUMMIT + OREGON BEER AWARDS!
The day before the Oregon Beer Awards, roughly 30 folks from across Oregon’s beer industry gathered at pFriem Milwaukie to discuss the state of clean water and forest protections, ways to elevate the brewing community’s voice for conservation, and to celebrate all the successes we’ve achieved together over the past eleven years.
More than a dozen breweries were represented as well as half a dozen hop farms and malt producers. It was absolutely inspiring to get so many passionate folks together and deepen our shared commitment to protecting and defending the #1 ingredient in beer: clean water.

The very next night, we got to see so many of you get recognized at the Oregon Beer Awards for all your incredible work! Suffice it to say that Oregon Brewshed® Alliance partners were very well represented with over 50 total awards and medals! Yep, we did the math. Twice. Congrats all around!
ACTION ITEM: SPEAK UP FOR ROADLESS AREAS
Oregon’s brewing community made its voice heard and played a key role in helping us pass the historic 1% for Wildlife bill to help 300+ native species avoid extinction.
Now, your voice can help protect over 45 million acres of wild public lands across the country (including two million acres in Oregon) that are at risk of losing key protections from the proposed rescission of the Roadless Area Conservation Rule. This includes beloved places like Lost Lake, Tumalo Mountain, the headwaters of the McKenzie River, and Newberry Crater. Losing Roadless Rule protections means these places would be at risk of being opened up to roadbuilding, commercial logging, and development.
Oregon Wild and partners helped generate 600,000+ public comments supporting the Roadless Rule protections last year. Now, we need to show that Oregon businesses support protecting these special wild places too! So we’re asking all Oregon Brewshed® Alliance partners to sign this letter that will be sent to Oregon’s congressional delegation, urging them to support protections for these threatened public lands.

Brewshed® Partner of the Month: Schilling Cider
We are beyond grateful to be teaming up with long-time Brewshed® Alliance partner Schilling Cider once again on their annual Keep It Wild campaign!
Throughout the month of April, Schilling is generously donating 5% of the sales from their Moon Berries, Excelsior Imperial Apple, and Excelsior Imperial Mango ciders!
Schilling’s generous support had made a monumental impact on our conservation work the past several years and we’re so excited to partner with them to Keep It (Oregon) Wild once again!
