Advocates hold signs at a rally that say "for our wildlife" and "for our forests"

Our legislature is about to make big decisions for Oregon’s wildlife, and they need to hear from all of us. On February 11th, we’re gathering at the Capitol for a day of action, advocacy, and celebration to urge leaders to pass 1% for Wildlife. Your voice can help change the future for countless species. Will you be there?

Species like sea otters, American pikas, and North American porcupines are facing mounting threats from climate change, habitat loss, and dwindling protections. The proposed 1% for Wildlife measure would dedicate a small share of Oregon’s tourism lodging tax to fund critical conservation efforts, giving our wildlife the support they desperately need. Now is the time for us to show up and speak up.

The day will include a lively rally at the Capitol and pre-scheduled lobby meetings where you will have the chance to meet with legislators to share why Oregon’s wildlife matters to you. Whether this is your first lobby day or your fiftieth, we’ll ensure you feel prepared, supported, and empowered.

In the weeks prior, we’ll host a series of trainings and community gatherings, including an informational webcast, lobby 101 training, opportunities to meet fellow advocates and roleplay conversations with legislators, and a rally sign-making party so attendees feel confident, connected, and ready to make an impact. Check out our events page to learn more and sign up.

More logistical details will be sent to all registered participants soon. Carpools, materials, schedules, and meeting assignments will be provided.

Movements are built in moments like this. This is your chance to make a real difference for Oregon’s endangered species. We can’t wait to see you there!
