HALTING AN OLD-GROWTH TIMBER SALE

Last month, Oregon Wild and partners stopped the Blue & Gold old-growth timber sale above the iconic Umpqua River.

The US District Court ruled the Blue and Gold timber sale project on Bureau of Land Management (BLM)-administered land west of Yoncalla, Oregon, violated a suite of bedrock environmental laws and halted any further logging. Conservation organizations have vociferously opposed the 3,200-acre logging proposal, which contains many old-growth forest units, for more than six years.

THE 4th ANNUAL WILD & SCENIC EARTH DAY
COLLABORATION WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

You all really outdid yourselves. 19 breweries collaborated on a total of 17 incredible beers that highlighted the impact of clean water and protected watersheds this spring!

Huge thanks to all the participating breweries as well as Coleman Hops, Yakima Chief Hops and Indie Hops! We’re already looking forward to next year’s collaboration!

Brewshed® Partner of the Month: Sunriver Brewing

This month, we want to thank and recognize long-time Brewshed® Alliance partner Sunriver Brewing.

Our friends in Sunriver have participated in the Wild & Scenic Earth Day Collaboration Series each of the past four years. This year, they brewed “Protect and Restore” – a delicious West Coast Pale Ale that takes its name directly from Oregon Wild’s mission statement.

It made for the perfect treat on a hike along the tranquil Fall River – a waterway that we’re working to permanently protect as a federal Wild & Scenic River.

Cheers to Sunriver!
