November 20, 2024
6:00 PM Pacific

Join Oregon Wild, ONDA, and KS Wild for a presentation on the current and future opportunities to protect iconic landscapes in Oregon.

Rogue River by Hanna Anderson

The Owyhee Canyonlands. The Wild Rogue. The River Democracy Act. These are a few of the current opportunities to protect iconic landscapes and large expanses of public lands in Oregon for the benefit of fish and wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation, climate resiliency, and local communities.

What are these bold conservation proposals and what do the election results mean for them? Are there still opportunities to protect important public lands and ecologically important landscapes in the lame-duck period and in the new Congress? Join us as we discuss these various opportunities for public lands designations across Oregon and what the future looks like for these grand landscapes.

Panelists for this presentation will include Mark Salvo–Conservation Director for the Oregon Natural Desert Association (ONDA), Michael Dotson–Executive Director for the Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center (KS Wild), and Chandra LeGue–Senior Conservation Advocate for Oregon Wild.

We will be raffling off a copy of Oregon’s Ancient Forests: A Hiking Guide and one of our new”Let Nature Live. Let Nature Last” t-shirts. Tickets are $5 and are an optional purchase below. Raffle tickets not only help us continue these Wednesday presentations but also support our work safeguarding Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters.
