The wild and ancient forest that sits atop Larch Mountain in the Columbia Gorge has eluded the permanent protection it deserves for too long. Now, efforts to ramp up logging and roll back roadless area protections could put this popular recreation destination at risk. Come explore the trails that loop around some of the oldest, wildest forest near Mt. Hood so you can be a powerful voice for protecting this and other wild places. (Plus, take in the iconic view from Sherrard Point!)
The goal of Oregon Wild’s outdoor program is to connect our supporters to the places we work to protect and conserve. Our guided hikes and outings are led by staff members with experience in our conservation campaigns, knowledge about the natural world, and a passion for Oregon’s wild places and wildlife. Our programs offer an educational experience and a connection to advocacy for the places we visit. We strive to make our outdoor programs inviting and safe for everyone.
